چکیده
3D detailed radiative transfer is computationally taxing, since the solution of equation involves traversing six dimensional phase space domain. With modern supercomputers hardware available for wallclock speedup rapidly changing, mostly in response to requirements minimize cost electrical power. Given variety computing architectures, we aim develop and adapt algorithms different architectures improve performance on a wide platforms. We implemented main time consuming kernels solving problems vastly using MPI, OpenMP, OpenACC vector algorithms. Adapted lead massively improved speed all making extremely large model calculations easily feasible. These would have previously been considered impossible or prohibitively expensive. Efficient use devices entirely feasible, but unfortunately requires implementation specialized them.

Radiative heat transfer: many-body effects
Heat transfer by electromagnetic radiation is one of the common methods of energy transfer between objects. Using the fluctuation-dissipation theorem, we have studied the effect of particle arrangement in the transmission of radiative heat in many-body systems. In order to show the effect of the structure morphology on the collective properties, the radiative heat transfer is studied and the re...
متن کاملA 3D radiative transfer framework: II. line transfer problems
Context. Higher resolution telescopes as well as 3D numerical simulations will require the development of detailed 3D radiative transfer calculations. Building upon our previous work we extend our method to include both continuum and line transfer. Aims. We present a general method to calculate radiative transfer including scattering in the continuum as well as in lines in 3D static atmospheres...

Context. Observations and theoretical calculations have shown the importance of non-spherically symmetric structures in supernovae. Thus, the interpretation of observed supernova spectra requires the ability to solve the transfer equation in 3-D moving atmospheres. Aims. We present an implementation of the solution of the radiative transfer equation in 3-D homologously expanding atmospheres in ...

Aims. We extend our framework for 3D radiative transfer calculations with a non-local operator splitting methods along (full) characteristics to spherical and cylindrical coordinate systems. These coordinate systems are better suited to a number of physical problems than Cartesian coordinates. Methods. The scattering problem for line transfer is solved via means of an operator splitting (OS) te...
متن کاملA 3D radiative transfer framework: III. periodic boundary conditions
Aims. We present a general method to solve radiative transfer problems including scattering in the continuum as well as in lines in 3D configurations with periodic boundary conditions. Methods. The scattering problem for line transfer is solved via means of an operator splitting (OS) technique. The formal solution is based on a full characteristics method. The approximate Λ operator is construc...
